Southern Illinois FCA

International Ministry

The ministry of the Southern Illinois Fellowship of Christian Athletes is not limited to our region or even our nation. As a formal part of FCA's vision "To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches," we take seriously the opportunities to serve around the globe.

Global Ministry   Worldwide Service

Examples of SIFCA's International perspective can be seen in programs during the past year:

--FCA Director Roger Lipe spoke in October at the national conference for Sport Chaplaincy Australia organization.

--SIFCA was represented at the International Sport Coalition-Serving the People of Sport Council meetings in Orlando, Fla.

--Roger traveled to Singapore to train sport chaplains for the 2009 Asian Games and the 2010 Youth Olympics.

--Southeastern Illinois College softball coach Scott Gilpin spearheaded a drive to provide quality softball equipment to players in the Central American nation of Honduras.

--A group of area athletes, coaches and volunteers traveled to Honduras to lead clinics and chapels for local athletes and members of the Honduran Olympic team.
